Prakash Raj takes dig at PM Modi’s fitness video, extends support to Arvind Kejriwal

Actor Prakash Raj has taken a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his fitness video that he released recently while also throwing the challenge at Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy.

Taking to Twitter Raj mocked Modi’s priority on releasing a video showcasing his fitness instead of playing his role in promoting federalism. He wrote, “Dear supreme leader.. we know u r busy with Fitbit n EXERCISE..can u spare a minute and take a deep breath.. look around …and instruct bureaucrats to work with Chief Minister Kejriwal…(who is actually doing a good job ) and EXERCISE your DUTY too.”

Raj was referring to the ongoing sit-in protest by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his ministers at the office-cum-residence of the Delhi Lieutenant Governor, Anil Baijal, for over a week. Kejriwal and his cabinet colleagues have been demanding the LG’s intervention in ending the reported strike by civil servants, who are alleged to have not reported to work for four months.

Chief ministers of Karnataka, West Bengal, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh had shot off a joint letter to Modi on Saturday for his intervention in ending the impasse in Delhi after the LG allegedly denied West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee permission to meet Kejriwal.

Kejriwal himself made a personal appeal to all civil servants asking them to return to work while also assuring them that their safety will be ensured by him.

In response to Modi’s fitness challenge, Kumaraswamy had replied back stating that whilst he appreciated Modi’s concern ablout his health, he was more concerned about the ‘development fitness’ of Karnataka. He had tweeted, “Dear @narendramodi ji I am honoured & thankU very much for d concern about my health I believe physical fitness is imptnt for all & support d cause. Yoga-treadmill r part of my daily workout regime. Yet, I am more concerned about devlpment fitness of my state & seek ur support for it. (sic)”

Raj has been a fierce critic of Modi and had actively campaigned against the BJP in the just concluded Karnataka assembly polls.

  1. Modi must be given a Mental Fitness Challenge. People should ensure that a person holding PM’s post must be mentally fit.
