The CBI probe into the horrific murder of Ryan International school student Pradyuman Thakur has sensationally revealed illegality and destruction of evidence by Gurgaon Police.
This was after the CBI arrested a class 11 student of the same school on Wednesday while exonerating the bus conductor, who was arrested suspected to be the man behind Pradyuman’s murder. Gurgaon Police in Haryana had arrested the bus conductor Ashok Kumar for the murder and sexual assault of the child. Pradyuman Thakur, was found dead inside the toilet of school premises, with his throat slit on 8 September.
Gurgaon Police Commissioner Sandeep Khairwar on 10 September had told reporters that Ashok had killed the child after sexually abusing him. Pradyuman’s parents had refused to buy the police’s theory alleging that the cops were trying to botch up the investigation.
Later it emerged that Haryana Police had planted a knife to establish that the murder was indeed executed by Ashok. This also allowed the cops to declare that they had solved the case within hours.
Earlier, the CBI produced the accused, who is a minor, before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) and demanded his six-day custody.
The CBI told the juvenile court that the accused had confessed to his crime in front of his father. The CBI said that the accused committed the crime in order to postpone the parents-teachers meeting and the exams. The Haryana police had produced the student in court not as a suspect but as a witness.
Meanwhile, the accused student has been sent to Faridabad observation home where he will be kept until the next hearing in the case on 22 November, reported ANI.
