Police in Bihar registered an FIR on Tuesday against four persons including Bihar class 10+2 Arts and Science toppers for alleged irregularities in class 12 exams.
The two topper, Ruby Rai and Saurabh Shreshtha showing utter ignorance about elementary questions related to their subjects had shocked everybody and caused embarrassment to the state government.
Ruby, according to media reports, has now fled home to avoid police arrest. The police has, however, posted a hand-written notice outside her house.
On Tuesday, police filed FIR against four people including the Director of VR College on a complaint of Bihar School Examination Board.
A criminal case has been registered against science toppers Saurabh Shrestha and Rahul kumar, Arts topper Ruby Rai, and the Director of VR college under sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120 (B) of IPC.
This came after Bihar chief minister, Nitish Kumar, on Monday dissolved the committee set up by the state Board to probe this year’s class 12 exams results.
Kumar instead directed the state’s Director General of Police to probe the matter and file criminal complaint against the culprits.
The BSEB had held the re-examination of 14 toppers from Science and Arts background on Friday but only 13 of them took part as this year’s topper in Arts, Ruby Rai, did not turn up for fresh test citing depression.
The board has given her one more week to take the test failing which her results will be declared null and void.
Two toppers whose results have been cancelled are from Vaishali’s Vishnu Rai College. Both Saurabh Shreshtha and Rahul Raj had topped in Science from the college.
