PM Modi plants ‘Kadam’ tree sapling on World Environment Day


Prime Minister Narendra Modi kick-started the nationwide plant-a-tree drive on World Environment Day by planting a ‘Kadam’ tree sapling at his 7 Race Course Road residence on Friday.

PM Modi tweeted a picture of himself planting the sapling with The Union minister for environment and forests, Prakash Javadekar standing beside him.

According to reports, Cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma, along with Mr Javadekar and Maharashtra Minister for Primary, Higher and Technical and Medical Education and Culture Vinod Tawde will plant saplings in Mumbai at Joggers Park on Carter Road in the evening today.
