Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday visited the Tata Consultancy Services’ all women centre in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

Soon after his arriving at the centre, women in Hijab surrounded him to click selfie before the hall was echoed by chanting of Bharat Mata Ki Jai.

Speaking at the occasion, Modi said, “I am meeting those professionals who are now the glory of Saudi Arabia. This atmosphere I am witnessing here today has the potential to give a strong reply to the world. All of you must come to India, I assure you a very warm reception.”

Modi was later joined by 30 Saudi CEOs and Indian business leaders for a round table conference.

Chating of Bharat Mata Ki Jai has become hugely controversial issue in India with the BJP and the RSS leaders linking it to patriotism.

Muslims leaders say while they have no problem in chanting Bharat Zindabad or Bharat Ki Jai, they’ve described the chanting of Bharat Mata Ki Jai as an exercise by the RSS to impose its version of patriotism on India’s minority community.

On Sunday, Maharashtra chief minister, Devendra Fadnavis, said that those who had problem in chanting Bharat Mata Ki Jai, should leave India.

However, the former home secretary and now BJP MP, RK Singh, on Sunday said that if Muslims had problem in chanting Bharat Mata Ki Jai because of religious reasons, then they could simply say Bharat Ki Jai or Jai Hind.

He told ANI, “Agar aap ke mazhab mein dikkat hai bharat mata ki jai bolne mein toh jai bharat bolen, jai hind bolen.”
