PM Modi meets Muslim delegation on the eve of Shab-e-Barat, discusses plans for all-round development

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today reiterated the fact that he does not believe in politics which tends to divide people on communal lines. The PM had a meeting with a delegation of Muslim leaders today, during the course of which he stated that he will never speak in a communal tone.

PM Modi’s meeting with the leaders was focused on discussions regarding social, economic and educational issues related to Muslims. The 30-member delegation which interacted with the PM on these various issues was led by Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, Chief Imam of All India Imam Organization. The Prime Minister appreciated the gesture of the leaders, to take time out to meet him, even on the busy festive occasion of Shab-e-Barat.

During his interaction, PM Modi said that the politics of majority and minority had caused a lot of damage to the social fabric of the nation. PM also tweeted about his interaction with the leaders.

Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi was also part of the meeting. The PM Modi said that employment and development are the key to resolve all issues and his focus would be to deliver on on these lines.
