Patidar agitation: Gujarat home minister’s property set on fire


Patel protesters demanding reservation and release of their leaders including Hardik Patek set one of the vacant houses of Gujarat home minister, Rajni Patel, in Mehsana on fire on Monday.

Patidars had started their jail bharo andolan on Sunday but the agitation had turned violent with protesters complaining of police brutality.

Chief Minister Anandiben Patel had made light of the agitation by expressing ignorance on the protests. Her statement ‘why are they protesting’ was widely condemned on social media.

Gujarat government has banned mobile internet services in several cities including Ahmedabad and Rajkot.
