Khan’s tweet congratulating the Indian team for its heroic performance abroad went viral in lightening speed with his post receiving more than 30,000 likes and nearly 6,000 shares. It evoked considerable praise from social media users and journalists with many applauding him for being ‘gracious.’

Speaking about his side’s historic win Australia, Kohli had said that this will change cricket in India forever. He had said, “When we won the World Cup in 2011, I was the youngest member of the side. I saw all the people getting emotional but I didn’t really feel what they felt.”
India had outclassed Australia in the four-Test series by beating them 2-1 and defeating the hosts for the first time since India began touring Australia in 1947-48.
Ironically, not too long ago, Kohli had faced condemnation after he asked fans, who admired foreign cricketers, to leave India.
