“Opportunity to burn down Delhi,” says BJP’s Amit Malviya; “Arvind Kejriwal led Delhi government has already notified the new Farm Laws on 23Nov20 and had started implementing them”

BJP’s Amit Malviya has launched an extraordinary attack on the Delhi’s Arvind Kejriwal government accusing it of planning to burn down the national capital in the guise of its fake support to the farmers’ protests.

Sharing the notification issued by the AAP government, Malviya tweeted, “Arvind Kejriwal led Delhi government has already notified the new Farm Laws on 23Nov20 and had started implementing them. But now that the Khalistanis and Maoists have stepped in to oppose, he sees an opportunity to burn down Delhi. It was never about farmers. Just politics…”

Mavluya’s allegations assume significance in light of the AAP’s support for the farmers. Questions may be asked as to how the party led by Kejriwal can claim to extend support to protesting farmers and implement the law passed by the Narendra Modi government at the same time. Farmers have been protesting against the same law now being implemented by the Kejriwal government.

After marching towards Delhi for several days, thousands of farmers have camped near the Delhi-Haryana border. Rights groups have condemned the police brutality against farmers protesting against the farm bills passed by the Narendra Modi government. Farmers say that the government’s agricultural reforms will leave them at the mercy of big companies such as Ambani and Adani, both considered to be friends of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
