Onions in locker? Why politicians must practice ‘under-promise and over-deliver’ mantra

Exactly two years ago, soaring prices of onions were making Indians cry. Manmohan Singh was hung, drawn and quartered by BJP for his inability to check the rising prices of this essential food ingredient.

In his speech in Chhattisgarh, PM Modi had once said, “Aisi Dilli ki sarkar ne jisne aap ke pyaaz ko cheen liya hai, aisi salatanat ko poore Hindustan se cheen lene ki zaroorat hai.” Please watch what else the leaders of the current government, then in opposition, had said on the rising prices of onions.

PM Modi had even taunted UPA2 government by saying, “now we will have to keep even onions in lockers.”

BJP’s Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi had claimed that his government will check price rise within two weeks of coming to power.
