Newborn with dark-coloured face but fair body becomes ‘Goddess Kali’

A baby girl, born with birth defects of a dark coloured face and a fair body in a UP village is attracting hundreds of villagers who are considering her to be an avatar of Goddess Kali.

The newborn couldn’t even survive for thirty minutes after being born on Monday. But the parents have not been able to bury the child even on Tuesday as people from faraway places have been coming in disbelief to see this ‘magic.’

The superstitious villagers were seen folding their hands and touching the newborn’s feet at her house in Balrampur village, near Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, the mother of the newborn, Krishna said she was facing difficulties in performing the last rites of the child as both her parents and in-laws were arguing over the burial of the child in their respective villages.

Nearly two days have gone by, but people are continuing to offer prayers and the body is covered with coins and notes as the ‘bhajan kirtan‘ is still going on at Krishna’s household.
