Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Sunday used a video clip of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent interview to ABP News to warn that the ‘karma is about to catch up’ with him. In the video clip, used by Gandhi, Modi was seen losing his cool when asked about the Rafale scam.
Sharing the video clip, Gandhi wrote on Twitter, “You can run Mr Modi but you can’t hide. Your karma is about to catch up with you. The country can hear it in your voice. Truth is a powerful thing. I challenge you to a debate on corruption.”

Modi had reacted angrily when ABP News anchor Rubika Liyaquat had asked him, “Is it a lie that you did not favour Anil Ambani in the Rafale deal?” An angry Modi had shot back, “Will you not believe even the Supreme Court? If ABP News doesn’t believe in the Supreme Court, then there can be no bigger misfortune than this. Will you not trust the CAG? Will you not accept what the French President had to say?”
Modi had also accused ABP News of being ‘biased’ even though their interview with the prime minister had come under the scanner as many accused the channel for being too soft on him during the interview.
Janta Ka Reporter in its three part series in November 2017 had first exposed the scam in the purchase of Rafale jets from the French company Dassault aviation. (You can read them here Part 1 and Part 2 and Part 3).
