In a Facebook live, Thackeray said that Modi had agreed for a quid pro quo deal with Ibrahim so that he could use this as a big achievement in 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

“Dawood wants to come back to India. He is involved in talks with the Centre regarding this. He himself wants to come back to India as he is handicapped and wants to spend his last days in India. While Dawood wants to come back on his own, the BJP will use it by getting him back before the elections to get votes,” he was quoted by Times Now channel.

CNN-News18 quoted him as saying, “Dawood is in talks with BJP for returning to India. He’s trying for a settlement with Centre, but the government will portray it as its victory.”

He also called Modi a ‘liar’ reminding how he had supported him in the aftermath of the 2002 Gujarat genocide.

The MNS chief expressed his displeasure over bullet train project between Ahmedabad and Mumbai asking why this project was not taking place in other cities such as Kolkata.

Dawood is wanted by India for his alleged role in the 1993 serial blasts that had killed over 200 people.
