AAP MLA, Alka Lamba, has said that the motive motive behind attacking her was not to target her but disrupt “our campaign” against drugs and disperse the crowd.
She said, “3-4 police officials were also present at the spot where we were staging anti-drug campaign, when this attack took place. The SHO of the area called me and gave assurance that the police will support our campaign. We won’t stop our anti-drug campaign, will start from where I left today.”
Lamba was attacked on Sunday morning while leading the campaign against the menace of drugs in the capital. She sustained head injuries and was taken Aruna Asaf Ali hospital, where, after treatment, she was released.
Delhi chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal tweeted saying that he was proud of her.
The newly appointed chief DCW, Swati Maliwal, expressed her shock on the attack and asked Delhi Police to find the culprits at the earliest.
