Mother Teresa to be made saint on 4 September: Pope Francis

Pope Francis said on Tuesday that Mother Teresa of Missionary of Charity in Kolkata will be made a saint of the Roman Catholic Church at a ceremony on 4 September.

According to news agency Reuters, Pope made the announcement at a meeting of cardinals to give the final approval to several sainthood causes.

Last December, he cleared the way for sainthood for the Nobel peace laureate, who died in 1997 at the age of 87.

Mother Teresa, a widely revered figure across the globe, spent all her life serving the poor in Kolkata.
