Local police in Meerut said that the accused, Usha Parashar, hired a contract killer Bilal to get her son Mukesh Parashar killed after he did not approve his mother’s illicit relationship with Naushad.

Quoting police, a Times of India report said that the family first filed a missing complaint with the TP Nagar police station on 20 May. Mukesh’s body was later found near a tube well in Narhaida village in Brahmapuri area a day later.

The post-mortem revealed that Mukesh had been strangled. This established that he had been murdered, giving the cops a breakthrough in what was a blind case until then. SSP Rajesh Pandey said, “Mukesh used to pick fights with his mother Usha over the latter’s affair with Naushad. Usha then decided to get rid of her son and asked Naushad to make a plan.”

Cops said that the accused, in her late 40s, first tried to mislead them by making false allegations against her son saying that he was a chronic alcoholic and often fought with people adding that he may have drowned in the well while in inebriated state. Usha had allegedly made a failed attempt to get Mukesh killed two months ago.

Police got the breakthrough while going through Usha’s call records prompting the cops to detain Naushad, who later confessed to have killed Mukesh with the help of hired help Bilal, a history-sheeter with close to a dozen cases of robbery and snatching. Both Naushad and Bilal are resident of Lisari Gate area in Meerut, added ToI report.

According to police, both Naushad and Bilal made Mukesh consume alcohol on 20 May before taking him to a discreet location. They strangled him to death using a rope before abandoning his body near a tube well. Police have discovered the rope.
