Anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare has criticised PM Narendra Modi for not keeping his election promises of bringing achche din for Indians.
Speaking at the ABP News’ special programme, Press Conference, the veteran activist said, “Modi jo kahte hain woh karte nahi hain. He promised achche din for every Indian. 12 mahine ho gaye hain, aur achche din ka kahin pata nahi hai. He said he will bring back black money and give Rs 15 lakh to every Indian, but he has not delivered that either.”
When asked who he would vote for between Kiran Bedi and Arvind Kejriwal (both his former colleagues from India Against Corruption movement), Anna said his choice will be the Delhi CM.
“Kejriwal ko janta ne chuna hai to hamein janta ke mat ki qadar karni chahiye (In democracy you have to respect people’s verdict.) In Delhi elections, people have given their verdict and their choice is Arvind.”
Anna was also reminded by jantakareporter.com’s Editor-in-Chief, Rifat Jawaid, about the incident of 2013 , when he had asked senor AAP leader Gopal Rai to leave the venue of his fast for Jan Lokpal Bill in his village Ralegan Siddhi, because the latter had interrupted General VK Singh’s speech.
He was asked if he thought it was a mistake to side with Gen VK Singh and not Gopal Rai, Anna said,”Gopal Rai had left us then, but VK Singh was still with me. So, how could I have not sided with him. But, if I knew that VK Singh too had political ambition and will join BJP, I would have asked him to leave my stage too.”
So what does he think about Rahul Gandhi? The 78-year-old anti-graft crusader said, ” Rahul mein Ghussa bahut hai, aur jis insaan mein gussa hota hai, woh desh keliye theek nahi. Gusse ke kayi prakar hote hain. jo ghussa apne swarth keliye ho woh theek nahi hai, lekin jo ghussa samaj ke hit me ho woh theek hai. (Rahul has too much anger and anyone who has too much anger is not good for the country. There are many kinds of anger. Anger to serve self interest is not good but anger shown in the interest of society is good)”
Press Conference is a newly launched weekly programme by ABP News. It’s broadcast at 8 pm every Saturday and anchored by senior journalist Dibang. The programme with Anna Hazare will be broadcast on Independence Day.
