Ending speculation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday defended his beleaguered colleague and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who’s facing the heat for serious corruption in the DDCA.

Modi said he will come through with flying colours just like LK Advani did.

“Arun Jaitley will come through with flying colours in the same manner as L K Advani did in Hawala case,” Modi told BJP Parliamentary Party.

Elsewhere, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu quoted Modi on the issue and said, “Congress is raking up manufactured allegations to defame government.”

On Monday, Jaitley filed civil defamation case against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and four other AAP leaders. He’s also expected to file criminal case in against them Patiala House Court later today.

According to media reports, Jaitley has sought Rs 10 crore damages from AAP leaders for making “false” statements against him over alleged irregularities in DDCA
