Militant hideout busted in Jammu and Kashmir

Security forces overnight busted a guerrilla hideout in Jammu and Kashmir recovering arms and ammunition from there.

A joint operation by army and state police busted a terror hideout in Poonch district on Monday. Arms and ammunition was recovered from the place, defence spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Manish Mehta told IANS in Jammu on Tuesday.

“The troops of Rashtriya Rifles battalion base under Romeo Force along with police recovered arms and ammunitions stored in the area of Rajada forest.”

The operation was launched on the basis of information by army sources. Following the information, a search and combing operation was launched in the area. Huge cache of arms were hoarded in a gunny bag near Dhara Nala, the report said.

“One AK-56, one AK magazine with 550 rounds, one under barrel grenade launcher (UBGL), one UBGL grenade, a pistol with three magazines and six hand grenades were seized.”

“Such recovery of arms and ammunitions have once again thwarted nefarious designs of terrorists.”
