Maneka Gandhi writes to Uttarakhand DGP, wants strict action against party MLA who attacked horse


Union Minister Maneka Gandhi has written to Uttarakhand Director General of Police demanding strict action against the BJP MLA Ganesh Joshi for attacking a police horse, reported news agency ANI.

This comes after several BJP leaders vociferously defended Joshi’s alleged brutality against the horse Shaktiman in Uttarakhand on Monday.

A horse deployed as part of mounted police was injured during a protest march by BJP to the state assembly in Dehradun on Monday.

Video of the BJP MLA from Mussoorie Ganesh Joshi mercilessly thrashing the horse had gone viral.

Doctors on Wednesday said that Shaktiman won’t require amputation and will be able to walk by April end.

One doctor said, “We have put an external skeletal fixator with bilateral side bars on Shaktimaan’s leg under general anaesthesia.”
