Malayalam actor molested while sleeping in train, says no one came to her help

Malayalam actor Sanusha Santosh has narrated her harrowing experiences of fighting with her molester while travelling in the train from Kannur to Thiruvananthapuram.

According to the 23-year-old actor, she was travelling in the two-tier air-conditioned coach of Maveli Express on early Friday morning, when she was molested by a fellow passenger. Santosh said that she was shocked to have discovered that a man was rubbing his hand against her lips.

Sharing her experience, the actor told NDTV, “I opened my eyes as I felt something against my lips. I was shocked to see a man’s hand. I held on to his hand and twisted his fingers. I tried reaching out to a person in the berth below me for help but he didn’t bother. I was shouting but no one cared to respond. This happened around 1.10 am. Just two people, scriptwriter Unni and another passenger, Renjith, came forward to help.”

“At Thrissur station, he was handed over to the railway police and I gave a formal complaint. The train was almost full and still none but these two men cared to help me. There were many women passengers in the train but nobody helped,” she told India Today.

She added that once the TTE arrived, he called for the railway police at the next station in Thrissur, where her molester was arrested. The alleged molester is identified as Anto Bose, who faces the charges of outraging the modesty of a woman, has been sent to custody for 14 days.
