Former MP Governor, Ram Naresh Yadav, dies in Lucknow


Former Madhya Pradesh Governor, Ram Naresh Yadav, has died in Lucknow on Tuesday morning. He was 90 years old.

He was also the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh in 1977, when Janata Dal formed government in Uttar Pradesh. In September 2011, he was appointed as Madhya Pradesh Governor by the then UPA government.

His name had also cropped up in the infamous Vyapam scam of Shivraj Singh Chouhan government.

Yadav was granted immunity by courts from prosecution for his alleged role in the scam till he held the office of Governor in Madhya Pradesh.

A former Congress leader, Yadav’s friends in politics have been paying rich tribute on his death.

Yadav’s body will be taken to his native town Azamgarh for last rites.
