LIVE UPDATES: Voting underway for 78 assembly seats in last phase of Bihar polls

Polling is underway for the remaining 78 assembly seats in the third and final phase of assembly elections in Bihar today with around 2.34 crore voters exercising their right to franchise to decide the fate of 1204 candidates. Among those whose fate would be decided in today’s polls are the Bihar Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Chaudhary of JD (U) and 12 members of the outgoing Nitish Kumar cabinet.

Also going to pols today is Valmiki Nagar Lok Sabha, where the by-poll was necessitated  by the death of late JD(U) MP Baidyanath Mahato.

The first phase two phases of Bihar polls were held on 28 October and 3 November. The counting is scheduled for 10 November. Nitish Kumar, who’s seeking a fifth term in office, had recently said that this would his last election.
