US President Donald Trump has presented his country’s top award, Legion of Merit, to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his ‘leadership in elevating the US-India strategic partnership.’

India’s ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu accepted the medal on behalf of the Indian prime minister.



Trump, who will be leaving the White House next month after losing US President polls to Joe Biden, has also presented the same honour to Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison for his leadership in addressing global challenges and promoting collective security and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe for his leadership and vision for a free and open Indo-Pacific.
