Modi government finds itself on sticky wicket on Rafale deal as argument begins in Supreme Court


The Supreme Court on Wednesday resumed its hearing on multiple petitions filed on the alleged irregularities in the Rafale deal singed between India and France. Among the petitioners are former Union minister Yashwant Sinha, Arun Shourie and lawyer Prashant Bhushan. AAP MP Sanjay Singh too has filed a petition in the case.

Rafale deal

A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi and comprising Justices UU Lalit and KM Joseph is hearing the case. The bench last month had asked the government to submit details on the pricing of the Rafale jets. The government had submitted the details on Monday, when the court resumed after the weekend.
