Landslide on Mumbai Pune Expressway kills 3 people


A landslide on Mumbai-Pune highway on Sunday claimed the lives of three people. The incident took place near the Adoshi tunnel, close to famous tourist spot Lonavala.

The highway police are requesting the motorists to use the old Mumbai-Pune road for the time being.

The expressway has been closed for traffic and ambulances and rescue teams have rushed to the spot. Special train services have been started to ease the traffic congestion

Mumbai-Pune expressway was built in 2002 and is often known for experiencing high volume of traffic particularly over the weekend with commuters using this 100-kilometer long route to travel between the two cities.
