A day after the Aam Aadmi Party announced the names of its three candidates for the Rajya Sabha, Sanjay Singh was seen being accompanied by party colleague Ashutosh on his way to filing the nomination.
Ashutosh accompanying Singh assumes significance in light of media reports that the former was unhappy over Sushil Gupta being picked up as one of the nominees.
Elsewhere, Kumar Vishwas has reportedly decided to quit active politics, reported ABP News. This was a day after he was denied the chance to represent AAP in the Rajya Sabha as the party picked up a billionaire businessman and a chartered accountant over him.
Reacting angrily, the poet-politicians had launched an all-out attack against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He had told reporters, “Arvind had once said that I will be killed but not martyred. Today, I accept the martyrdom. All I request Kejriwal is that please tell your Twitter warrior to leave me alone as there are some rules even in war. When you kill your enemy, you don’t tinker with the dead body.
“I am grateful to those crores of volunteers who stood by me that everyone has to fight their own battle. I congratulate Arvind and everyone else in the party, who chose these two (in sarcasm) revolutionaries to the Rajya Sabha.”
Meanwhile Vishwas received support from the rebel BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha, who said that he was equally surprised on AAP not choosing his name along with Ashutosh for the Rajya Sabha.
He added, “Hope wish and pray that good sense prevails on friends in AAP in general and on the great activist & popular leader Kejriwal in particular. Merit, capacity & capability must get their due – at least in the Rajya Sabha. Love you all. Jai Hind.”
