Kirti Azad files petition against Arun Jaitley in High Court


Suspended BJP MP, Kirti Azad, on Monday filed petition against Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Delhi District Cricket Association officials in High Court.

Azad tweeted, ” #WRITPETITION filed against #DDCA, former and current #OfficeBearers in the #HighCourtOfDelhi today at 3.24pm, diary no-30956/2016 (sic)”

Azad, whose revelation against Jaitley had caused huge embarrassment for the BJP, also slammed the finance minister for his plea in a lower court seeking DDCA records.

He said, “Surprised why @arunjaitley summoning papers, I m sure he must have duplicate, we all keep records.”

Earlier today, a Delhi court has accepted the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s plea seeking summoning of records of Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) in a criminaldefamation complaint filed by him against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and five other AAP leaders.

In his application filed before CMM Sanjay Khangwal, Jaitley had sought summoning of records of DDCA for the relevant period in which he was the President of the cricketing body.

Jaitley on 5 January had recorded his statement in a defamation case.

His decision to file defamation had come hours after Kejriwal government had announced it was forming a probe panel headed by renowned lawyer Gopal Subramanium to investigate corruption in Delhi District Cricket Association.
