Umar Khalid’s 12-year-old sister says ‘my brother is not anti-national’

A video of the arrested JNU student Umar Khalid’s sister defending her brother on sedition charges has gone viral.

12-year-old Sara says that the sedition charges against her brother and other students should be dropped because the videos used to frame the charges against them were doctored.

Sara said, “In not a single video, Umar Khalid can be seen chanting anti-India slogans. I want my brother to continue his fight. He should stand for truth. I want the JNU to remain as strong as it’s been.”

Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya have been in jail since last month.

Both had surrendered before the Delhi Police on on 23 February after being asked by the court to do so.
