Khaki innearwear allegation kicks new controversy in Madhya Pradesh literary society

Literary society in Madhya Pradesh is rocked by a full-blown controversy involving eminent poet Manzar Bhopali and the Urdu Academy secretary Nusrat Mehdi.

The rift has deepened after Bhopali alleged accused Mehdi of corruption and carrying out the saffronisation of Urdu Academy.

Mehdi, for her part accused Bhopali of using vulgar remarks against her.

According to report, Bhopali had allegedly accused Mehdi of ‘now wearing Khaki innerwear.’

Mehdi told News18, “I have complained at the women police station and am searching for the audio and video of the said function.”

Denying her allegations, Bhopali said, “I had written a letter to the CM on 2 March, informing him of corruption at Urdu academy and misuse of designation from Mehdi.

“I had talked about saffronisation of Urdu Academy on 6 March gathering but did not make any vulgar comment as alleged by Mehdi,”

Meanwhile, the litterateurs held a meeting at Vishwa Samvad Kendra – an ideological wing of RSS – on Friday and kicked off a signature campaign against Bhopali, demanding action against the poet over his alleged derogatory remarks about Mehdi.
