Kerala BJP worker dies as bomb being made by him explodes


A 27-year-old BJP worker died when a country bomb which he was allegedly making exploded at his residence in Koothuparambu in Kannur on Saturday, police said.

Deekshit was seriously injured in the blast and died while being rushed to a hospital, they said.

The roof of the house where he was “making” the bomb was destroyed in the blast, they further said. The Matrubhumi reported that the sound of the blast could be heard across several kilometers.

According to a report in The Hindu, Dekshit was a son of a local BJP worker.

The police said that the incident occurred at 7.30 p.m. The house was damaged in the blast.

The police suspect that the explosion took place while making crude bombs. The injured have been rushed to hospital at Thalassery where he was declared brought dead.
