Kejriwal demands Jaitley’s removal, Yechury and Bishan Bedi raise fresh questions

Delhi chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, on Thursday, said that the charges against the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley were very serious demanding the latter’s removal for the ‘fair investigation.’

He tweeted, “Allegations against Jaitley ji r v v serious. Amounts involved r huge. He shud either resign or be removed to enable independent probe. (sic)”

Kejriwal’s demand has come hours after Jaitley held a press conference to deny charges of corruption as alleged by Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday.

The finance minister also wrote a detailed blog, where he sought to rubbish the graft charges.

But the Delhi CM questioned if Jaitley’s denial can be deemed as a ‘gospel truth’ adding that those charged with 2G corruption too had originally denied allegations against them.

He asked, “Can Jaitley ji’s denial in press be taken as gospel truth? V serious allegations against him. Why is he running away from investigations? If Jaitley ji were let off without investigations on basis of his press denial, then shud all coal n 2G accused also be similarly let off? (sic)”

Meanwhile, CPI-M’s general secretary, Sitaram Yechury, too said that charges against Jaitley were very ‘serious’ in nature demanding credible investigation to find the ‘truth.’

He said, “The charges in the DDCA matter are serious & merit a fair and credible investigation. The truth must come out.”

Elsewhere, former cricketer, Bishan Singh Bedi, who along with another former Indian cricketer and the BJP MP, Kiriti Azad, has been spearheading the campaign to clean up the DDCA, too questioned the claims made by Jaitley and the BJP.

Bedi asked, “If it was all honky dory in DDCA then why did the court ordered 4th Test 2 B administered by Justice Mudgal? Cud some1 pl educate me kindly?! Also if DDCA house was in order w/no corruption then why did BCCI stopped all payment 2 DDCA & why was incumbent President of DDCA sacked.?! (sic)”
