Karnataka govt to appeal in SC against Jaya acquittal

As per reports, the Karnataka government has decided to file an appeal in the Supreme Court against acquittal of Jayalalitha in the disproportionate assets case.

Few days back, Jayalalithaa announced her candidature from RK Nagar constituency for the upcoming by-poll.

The AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa was sworn in for the fifth time as Tamil Nadu chief minister on May 23, nearly eight months after she was forced to quit over corruption charges.

Governor K Rosaiah gave oath to Jayalalitha at the Madras University Centenary Auditorium. The grand ceremony was attended by actor Rajinikanth, ICC Chairman N. Srinivasan and Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan.

According to reports, Jayalalithaa will be holding the key portfolios of home, police, public, all India services, general administration and district revenue officers .
