Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar on Thursday posted the first look of Janhvi Kapoor’s debut film Dhadak, which also has Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khattar in a lead role. It was due to commitment to this film that Janhvi could not be part of her family celebrations in Dubai, where her mother Sridevi died a tragic death in February this year.
While posting the first look of Dhadak, Karan wrote, “#DHADAK #momemtsofdhadak trailer releasing shortly!!!”
In the poster, Ishaan is seen attempting to apply colour on Janhvi’s face, while the young ‘shy’ actor is trying to move her face away. However, minutes after Karan posted the image, he along with Janhvi and Ishaan began to face nasty trolling by Bollywood fans with many calling Karan as ‘Mafia’ while accusing him of nepotism.
User Shweta said, “Nepotism rocks.. Disgusting.” “Uff Janhvi Kapoor got a break but she is not beautiful at all,” wrote another user, identified as Asmara. User Arianna wrote, “She never will be an amazing actor like Sridevi.” One user wrote, “Another Bollywood garbage is on its way.” User Rani Chaudhary wrote, “Nepotism rock, Karan Johar Movie Mafia.” User Avradeep Sircar had a go at Karan and asked, “Seriously you are waiting for this? No I mean are you really serious? Talents are everywhere but outside the industry looking for a work.
This is the first time Janhvi has faced such trolling since her mother’s death in February. Since Sridevi’s death, the young actor received plenty of support from Bollywood fans, who rallied behind her and appreciated every move taken by Janhvi and her younger sibling Khushi Kapoor.
Surprisingly, Janhvi faced the same sort of nasty trolling when she posted the first look of her debut movie on instagram.
The public reaction to the first look of Dhadak has come as a huge shock to many as none would have expected Bollywood fans to use this sort of language for Janhvi.
