Days after it emerged that the Sony TV had pulled the plug on Kapil Sharma Show, the programme host has broen his silence. Reacting to reports that stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Anil Kapoor and Ajay Devgn had reportedly left his show because he did not turn up for shooting for hours, Kapil said there was no truth in these allegations.
He told Times of India, “Am I stupid to cancel 5 shoots and make superstars wait. What pleasure will I get in doing this? Why will I give excuses and my reputation in the industry.”
Speaking to a news agency, Ajay had said that he would ask Kapil for the reason behind him not turning up when the Baadshaho team was made to wait for hours forcing the former to left show in anger.
He had said, “We left because he hadn’t reached. When I will talk to him next, I will get to know the reason,”
Kapil also slammed his critics saying that they were jealous of his success.
He said, “Those who are saying I am not able to handle my stardom, can’t deal with my success… Doctors have advised me to rest and I am thankful that the channel has been very cooperative with me. I am suffering from weakness and anxiety and getting treated for it. I will be back soon in full form. I am right now in hospital.”
Kapil has had to deal with a series of controversies after his mid-air brawl with co-artists while returning from Melbourne. This had led to Sunil Grover, Chandan Prabhakar, Ali Asgar and Sugandha Mishra to quit the show. While Chandan returned to the show, the Kapil Sharma Show’s TRP had fallen to an all-time low.
The channel has now decided to bring in the new show The Mad Company by Kapil’s rival, Krushna Abhishek.
