Kajol and filmmaker Karan Johar were once great friends until the latter revealed in his book in January that his friendship with the DDLJ actor was over.
So, when Kajol was interviewed recently, the actor was rightly asked if she would visit Karan to see his newly born twins.
To which, Kajol replied, “I am not answering any questions on that topic.”
Her reply clearly indicated that everything between the two was over.
This assumes significance particularly when there was a time when Karan wouldn’t shoot a movie without Kajol being a part of it in one way or the other.
The celebrated filmmaker revealed in January that his 25-year-long friendship with Kajol ended over her one word tweet supporting husband Ajay Devgn’s allegations against the director during the box office clash of “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” and “Shivaay”.
Devgn had gone public with a recorded conversation with self-proclaimed film critic Kamaal R Khan, who allegedly said he was paid Rs 25 lakhs by Johar to write favourably about the Ranbir Kapoor-Anushka Sharma starrer.
Devgn demanded an investigation into the matter and Kajol came out in her husband’s support by tweeting, “Shocked”.
Writing about the moment in his book “The Unsuitable Boy”, Johar said that her tweet was the final straw for him.
“When she reacted to the whole situation, and put out a tweet saying, ‘Shocked!’ that’s when I knew it was completely over for me. The tweet validated the insanity, that she could believe I would bribe someone. I felt that’s it. It’s over. And she can never come back to my life. I don’t think she wants to either,” Johar wrote in the book.
Kajol says her daughter Nysa is too young to decide whether she wants to follow the footsteps of her parents and become an actor.
