Jharkhand CM’s brazen sense of entitlement, orders suspension of staff because he walks past his podium

Jharkhand’s chief minister, Raghubar Das, has caused huge controversy by publicly ordering the suspension of a government employee because he ‘dared’ to walk past his podium during his speech.

No sooner did the staff in question walk past his podium, Das lost his cool and stopped his speech to give him a public dressing down.

In the video (below), Das is heard angrily asking, “Kaun hai yeh. Suspend karo isko (Who’s he? Suspend him).”

Das had become Jharkhand’s chief minister in December 2014 after BJP’s good showing in the assembly election in the state.

This episode will no doubt cause huge embarrassment to the saffron brigade and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The party has had a terrible time in the last two assembly elections in Delhi and Bihar this year.

In Delhi, it faced a near annihilation after being reduced to just three seats and in Bihar the BJP led-alliance could win less than 60 seats in 243 seat assembly.

Das’ antics are likely to further alienate the voters, who had given decisive mandate in favour of Modi both in the Lok Sabha and assembly elections in Jharkhand last year.
