A Janata Dal-U lawmaker on Tuesday filed a complaint against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a Bihar’s Siwan district charging him of hurting the sentiments of the people of the state by questioning the DNA of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar four days ago.

The Barharia lawmaker, Shyam Bahadul Singh filed the complaint under sections 500 and 427 of Indian Penal Code in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate in-charge Alok Ranjan Singh.

The matter has been posted for hearing on July 31 while the petitioner has been directed to substantiate his charge.

During his speech at NDA’s ‘Parivartan Rally’ in Muzaffarpur on July 25, the PM had said there was something wrong in the DNA of senior JD(U) leader Kumar considering the way he had cancelled dinner for visiting BJP delegates during the party’s national executive in Patna in June, 2010.

PM Modi had visited Bihar in the run-up to the Assembly elections in the state in September-October.
