Trying to seek reintroduction of Jat reservation which was cancelled by the Supreme Court in March, the community plans to stage  protests outside the residences of prime Minister Modi and other cabinet ministers in July, came a statement from Akhil Bhartiya Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti National President, Yashpal Malik on Sunday.

He further said that Modi and BJP Chief Amit Shah had assured the community leaders that Centre will take appropiate steps in this regard and will try to find out a solution to the probelm that “jeopardises the future of thousands of youth.” But nothing has been done as of yet which has made the intention of the government doubtful.

During the meeting, the samiti also demanded jobs and admissions under OBC reservartion catergory for Jat youths, who had cleared exams, interviews and other formalities before the court’s decision.

The top court, in its verdict on March 17 this year, had set aside the 2014 notification of the then UPA government to include Jats in the central list of Other Backward Classes (OBC) in nine states for quota benefits.
