Senior BJP MP, Shatrughan Sinha, has lashed out at his critics within the party reminding them about his support base that he’s built by winning two Lok Sabha elections.
In a series of tweets, the Shotgun said, “I am not a Rajya Sabha MP. I’ve come through the support of masses and won 2 Lok Sabha elections with record margin. I have a support base.”
His comments are being seen as an indirect attack against Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and the Union HRD minister Smriti Irani, both of whom had lost their Lok Sabha contests but were picked up for key roles in the cabinet for two very important roles.
Sinha, in the past, had criticised this decision by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He reiterated that had party reached out to engage him in the just concluded Bihar elections, the outcome may not have been as adverse as it turned out to be in the end. He said that the party’s decision to exclude hoim had ‘let down’ his supporters.
He said, “A more enthusiastic participation of my friends, fans, voters and supporters wud’ve certainly helped to make a difference of at a few seats. Despite sincerity, efforts and intention BihariBabu was kept away from campaigning for my people. My friends, voters and supporters were let down.”
Sinha rubbished media reports that he ever wanted to become Bihar’s chief ministerial candidate.
He said, “I had no such expectations (of being made CM candidate). Have ONLY said – if I was called for campaigning, things could have been better. Media tried to create an impression that I had suggested that results cud’ve been different IF I WAS CM CANDIDATE. I have never said this.”
GOD bless them, GOD bless the party, GOD bless the Nation. Jai Bihar. Jai Hind….Happy Diwali.
