The parents of actor Sonam Kapoor on Tuesday officially confirmed that the Prem Ratan Dhan Payo actor will get married to Anand Ahuja 8 May.
The statement from Kapoor family said, “The Kapoor & Ahuja families, take great joy and pride, in announcing the marriage of Sonam Kapoor & Anand Ahuja. The wedding will take place on the 8th of May in Mumbai.”
Janta Ka Reporter had reported last week that the couple will get married on 8 May after several sources said that Sonam had said no to foreign location for her wedding in favour of an intimate wedding at the bungalow of her aunt Kavita Singh in Mumbai.
The statement by Kapoor said, “Since it is an intimate affair, we request you to respect the family’s need for privacy. Thank you for all your blessings and love, as we celebrate this special moment in our lives.”
Sonam has been busy doing promotional photo-shoot for her upcoming film Veer Di Wedding, which she has been promoting heavily. The film has Kareena Kapoor Khan and Swara Bhaskar other than Sonam Kapoor.
On Sunday, Sonam was asked by reporters in Mumbai about the dress she planned to wear for her wedding. But, as expected, she evaded those questions. Elaborate arrangements have been made for the pre-wedding functions.
“They will perform to her hit songs like the Veere title track, Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Haifrom the Fawad Khan co-starrer Khoobsurat, the Prem Ratan Dhan Payo title track, and Dheere Dheere from her music video with Hrithik Roshan, among others, besides other popular wedding songs,” a source was quoted by Mumbai Mirror.
