India pays tribute Indira Gandhi on her 98th birth anniversary

On the 98th birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi on Thursday, leading politicians, from President Pranab Mukherjee to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, paid tributes to the former prime minister.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi, party leader Rahul Gandhi and Vice-President Hamid Ansari also paid floral tribute at the memorial in Delhi.

Prime Minister Modi tweeted on 98th birthday of Indira Gandhi.

Former PM Manmohan Singh gave a speech on Indira Gandhi birthday, where he repeatedly attacked PM Modi.

He said that Pt Nehru,Indira ji responsible for developing agri sector and in light of recent crisis,Shri Modi should take a lesson from them.

He also added, “Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji the then leader of opposition addressed Indira ji as Durga in Parliament.”

He said, “Indira Gandhi tried her best to ensure that the East Pak crisis was resolved through diplomacy and she took the country forward in every way.

A series of functions would be organised to highlight the contribution of Indira Gandhi towards nation building.
