India not serious in talks on Kashmir: Pakistan


India’s response to Pakistan’s peace initiative was non-serious and it does not want to hold talks on Kashmir issue, Pakistan’s Representative to the UN Maleeha Lodhi has said.

Pakistan is ready to talk with India on all points including Kashmir which is the core issue, Radio Pakistan reported on Saturday.

She said India is not allowing implementation of the UN resolutions on Kashmir, adding that Pakistan will, however, keep on raising this issue.

Pakistan has handed over a dossier to the UN on India’s ‘interference’ in Pakistan’s internal affairs, Pakistan’s National Security Advisor Sartaj Aziz said.

In a meeting with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Pakistan’s representative to the United Nations, Maleeha Lodhi, presented documents containing evidence of Indian involvement in terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces as well as Karachi, The Nation newspaper of Pakistan quoted Aziz as saying.

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would have handed over the dossier to Prime Minister Narendra Modi if he had met him, Dawn online quoted Sharif as saying after his UNGA speech on Wednesday.
