Gurgaon councillor’s driver shot dead


The driver of a former gangster and Gurgaon councillor Binder Gujjar was shot dead by unidentified people, police said on Sunday.

The 25-year-old deceased has been identified as Ashok Kumar. His body was found in a Swift car parked on the roadside in the heart of the city.

Police said Kumar might have been murdered late Saturday night or early Sunday.

A senior police officer said that the car was parked near Gujjar’s house on Basai road in Gurgaon. The body and the car have several marks of gunshots.

A case against unknown people has been registered under sections of murder and others.

Gujjar has been elected ward number 16 duringMunicipal Corporation of Gurgaon election held in 2010. He has been involved in over dozen cases of murder, attempt to murder, robbery and others.

Gujjar was also attacked by a group of criminals three years back in which he received three gun shots.
