It’s been more than a week since a 15-year-old girl was raped in Haryana before being murdered and buried and yet the administration has been clueless about the perpetrators of the heinous crime.
The incident, according to Times of India, took place in Ghasera village of Nuh sub division of Mewat district, where two nephews of a Sarpanch allegedly gangraped and murdered a 15-year-old girl.
Supreme Court lawyer, Rajeev Yadav, who works with through his NGO in the region expressed his anger the lackadaisical approach and insensitivity shown by the officials in bringing the culprits to book.
He said, “No arrest yet because senior IPS officials are in connivance with the accused, who are closely connected to former cabinet minister in Cong government. This is the same village from where the father of the nation Gandhiji started March for Meo community to live in India.”
The accused have been identified as Abil and Akram and village sarpanch Ashraf Ali. Ashraf is booked for criminal conspiracy while Abil and Akram are booked for rape and murder, Inspector Sanjay kumar the SHO and investigating officer of the case said.
According to information the incident occurred on Wednesday when the victim, a school dropout had gone missing from her house. Victim was known to Adil and Akram. After her parents realized that she was missing they approached the village Sarpanch.
According to family, the Sarpanch did not help and avoided the requests. Following this the girl was found hanging in the toilet of next door neighbors. Suspecting it to be suicide, family had quietly buried the body as per rituals.
DSP Chaudhary said that on Thursday evening the family had approached the police and expressing their suspicion towards Adil, Akram and role of village Sarpanch.
“Soon after getting the complaint we had registered the case. Following this we requested the district magistrate to form a board to exhume the body. Medical board has conducted the autopsy which has confirmed the strangulation as the cause of death. While swabs have been drawn to ascertain the sexual abuse,” said Inspector Sanjay Kumar.
Refering to accused Sanjay Kumar said that all the three have gone into hiding. “We are looking for Adil and Akram. Following their interrogation we shall ask Ashraf to join the probe.
