Chased by angry women protesters, Gujarat BJP MLA says ‘abuse Modi not me’

In yet another embarrassing development for the saffron party ahead of crucial assembly polls in Gujarat, a BJP MLA was chased away by a group of women activists on Tuesday.

Surrounded and chased by the Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) workers, the BJP MLA from Karjan in Vadodara, Satish Patel was heard saying, “don’t abuse me, abuse (Narendra) Modi.”

The activists did not stop there and kept chasing him until he got inside his car. The angry women ASHA workers then blocked his car right in the middle of the road while chanting anti-party slogans.

The activists also chanted, “Gujarat sarkar hosh mein aao.”

The activists said that they had been demanding fixed pay and permanent employment with pension benefits for the last eight months.

These activists had launched a hunger strike in Vadodara last week. They had also protested outside the office of Sayajigunj BJP MLA Jitendra Sukhadia. The ASHA workers also held similar protests outside the office of Vadodara city MLA Manisha Vakil in August this year.
