Actor Varun Dhawan today chose to stay mum over Govinda’s recent remarks on his filmmaker father David Dhawan.

Govinda had recently criticised David for not standing by him during hard times.

“I have not heard it,” Varun said when asked about what he has to say about the remarks made by Govinda on his father.

When the journalist said ‘should I tell you Govinda’s remarks,’ he said, “I can’t hear anything.”

Govinda had said that the filmmaker did not stand by him when he was going through a bad phase and did not take him in any of his upcoming films despite requesting him several times.

The actor had also told news agency PTI that he was keen to make an 18th film with David Dhawan but the director used his idea and cast Rishi Kapoor instead.

Govinda had also slammed Karan Johar accusing him of nepotism and being double-faced,

“He has never called me in 30 years, he doesn’t see actors who are not the part of his group and doesn’t even say a hello, I doubt. He’s not that kind-hearted. It’s a well-planned and smart move by Karan that he’s releasing his film a week after mine. Mujhe woh kabhi seedha nahi lagta hai,” he had told Pinkvilla.

Johar had apologised for not being able to call Govinda on his show before and said that he would invite him in future. But Govinda didn’t buy that assurance.

He said, “He must have said that it would be a matter of national respect for him if he calls Govinda, but he is releasing Varun’s film just a week after my film. He shows that he’s very humble and innocent, but woh mujhe David se zyaada jealous and zyaada khatarnak lagta hai (He seems more jealous and dangerous than David Dhawan to me.”

David Dhawan and Govinda were the hit director-actor duo who went on to work together in 17 movies including “Raja Babu”, “Coolie No. 1”, “Hero No. 1”, “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan”, “Haseena Maan Jaayegi” and others.

Govinda is looking forward to the release of “Aa Gaya Hero” which is slated to release on 3 March.
