Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was reportedly ‘not pleased’ with Bhatia’s inability represent the Uttar Pradesh government’s case in the Supreme Court successfully.

The state government was also unhappy over his reported rifts with the Supreme Court Bar Association’s president Dushyant Dave, who recently resigned over his differences with Bhatia.

Reporters covering the Supreme Court received text messages from Bhatia on Wednesday saying he had resigned. But the justice department confirmed that a letter had been issued to remove Bhatia from his post.
