The trail of controversies seem to be never-ending for Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje after the emergence of a fresh document purportedly carrying her signature to back Lalit Modi’s immigration application in the UK. The Congress has now reignited the call for her resignation saying she stood “exposed completely” while batting for a “fugitive”.
The Congress also accused her of “repeatedly lying” and demanded her immediate resignation.
“The curtains are off, the secret is out. The document signed by Vasundhara Raje dated August 18, 2011 supporting his immigration case before the British government is out. When the issue came out first, she feigned ignorance and then said she does not remember,” senior party leader Jairam Ramesh told reporters during today’s AICC briefing.
It all started when Vasundhara Raje was named in one of the documents released by Lalit Modi’s lawyer which stated that Raje supported Lalit Modi’s immigration application as “secret witness”. Not only that but a senior advocate Poonam Bhandari stated that there were black money transactions between Lalit Modi and Raje’s son Dushyant Singh, for which the probe is on.
