Five policemen killed in two road accidents in Bihar

At least five policemen were killed and three others seriously injured on Tuesday in two road accidents in Bihar, police said.

In Rohtas district, a speeding truck hit four policemen near a toll plaza on National Highway No.2. A sub inspector and two constables were killed on the spot. An injured constable was admitted to a hospital in Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.

Police said the truck driver managed to run away.

In Jiradei in Siwan district, two policemen on patrolling duty were hit by a speeding truck, killing them on the spot. Two other policemen sustained serious injuries.

Following the accidents, hundreds of angry local residents blocked the road in Siwan and Rohtas districts.
